CMI Level 7 in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice

Qualification Purpose

These qualifications are designed for individuals wishing to develop professional management and leadership practice who will have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to drive business activities in a senior management and leadership role. Role and responsibilities may also include but are not limited to taking responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long term organisational success. They will have the professionalism to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate a commitment to continual learning and development.

Extensive research has been undertaken to ensure that these qualifications reflect tasks and activities of managers in the aforementioned roles in the workplace. Sources of information include, but are not limited to:

  1. Comparability to national management qualifications
  2. 21st Century Leaders Paper
  3. A review of the roles and responsibilities of managers sourced from a range of UK companies
  4. Analysis of Apprenticeship Standard for Senior Leader Apprenticeship (ST0480)

Rules of Combination

CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice

Learners must select at least one unit to a minimum of 70 TQT hours, selected from units 701-716, Group A only to achieve this qualification.

The minimum GLH is: 18 hours.

Minimum credits: 7

CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice

Learners must select at least two units to a minimum of 140 TQT hours, selected from units 701-716, Group A only to achieve this qualification.

The minimum GLH is: 36 hours.

Minimum credits: 14

CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice

Learners must complete a combination to a minimum of 370 TQT hours, Learners must achieve a minimum of 300 TQT hours, 30 credits selected from units 701-716, Group A only and 70 TQT hours, 7 credits from either Group A or B to achieve this qualification.

The minimum GLH is: 106 hours.

Minimum credits: 37

CMI Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice

Learners must complete a combination to a minimum of 640 TQT hours, Learners must achieve a minimum of 420 TQT hours, 42 credits selected from units 701-716, Group A only and 220 TQT hours, 22 credits from either Group A or B to achieve this qualification.

The minimum GLH is: 196 hours.
